Day 19 - Click image for larger view

Southern Light's anchor set well overnight in the tight anchorage. Kayak is ready for a possible harbor roaming later but for now I'm off to pick up a scooter.

Finally, new wheels in the corral! Off to explore Bermuda.

Just beyond my walking distance was "Buildings Bay Battery" as initially called when constructed in the 1860's – but in 1876 it was re-named the Alexandra Battery, after Princess Alexandra of Denmark who was married to Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII: 1841-1910)

Rocky shore near the channel entrance into St.George Harbor. Prehistoric critters like Chitons & Limpets cling to rocks. These creatures date all the way back into the Cambrian period, some of Earth's earliest living creatures. I find them quite amazing, especially the ability to live in such a harsh environment.

The water colors are most amazing around the North end of St.George where white coral sands highlight the clarity.

A water playground in paradise.

Circling around I crossed a bridge to St.David's where the airport is located. Beyond the airport I found a nice memorial park for those lost at sea.

The Bermuda SE lighthouse is located at the highest point around St.David.
