Day 6 - Click image for larger view

All tidied up and ready for a real solo sailing adventure. Having had eggs and bacon breakfast I tidied, pulled the anchor, motored under the Channel Five Bridge and hoisted the sails.

A good start clearing out of Florida Bay heading into the Gulf Stream

Sailing close hauled on port tack with a nice boost from behind thanks to the Gulf Stream.

It was getting a little bumpy due to the current bucking almost head on into the wind but that's alright, we're making good time in the general intended direction.

Ship traffic out here gets quite busy. Like me, they want to use the water current to their advantage. I could see them and vica-versa via AIS. I simply stayed well off of their path.

Sunset was clear but the elusive Green Flash disd not appear!
