Day 7 - Click image for larger view
I shifted course to the NE yesterday and was now firmly in the grips of the Gulf Streams northern flow. The wind eased off then slowly returned out of the East. Southern Light was pointed in her intended direction, North.
At this time I cranked up the engine simply to keep her pointed in the right direction.
By afternoon wind started to fill in from the East. I raised the Drifter sail to make use of the light air.
The big Drifter sail came down as the wind increased. Southern Light was in her element on a beam reach making good progress.
A few ships passed close enough for a good view.
