Day 30 - June 21, 2019 - Click image for larger view

The wind and seas kept increasing. Mentally I was in uncharted territory as they say. Bouncing around like a cork made it extremely difficult to move around so I wedged in the navigation seat to help prevent injury and watch the instruments progress. It was extremely dangerous to go outside however I would poke my head out the companionway hatch periodically to check for anything in need of attention. It's hard to tell from photos but only a dire situation would have driven me to go on deck.

Connected to my smartphone and laptop, this Iridium Go was my only link to the outside world. I also had an EPIRB but it was for one way emergency transmissions only. It was doubtful anyone could have done anything out here in the middle of the Atlantic in these conditions anyway. I had not seen another vessel on AIS, radar or visually in days. I had to rely on preparations for peace of mind while being slammed around inside.

I wondered what it looked like last night when it felt like being dropped off a multi story building more than once! It's dangerous even inside to be slammed around and anything not lashed down was flying around. As I mentally wore out I'd jump into a nest built of sail bags and blankets for a little rest. Sleep was near impossible as the next drop from a wave rearranged my little nest.

These are the only photos taken this day.
